Becoming a Christian
Know that God loves you. God's love is a real kind of love that does something wonderful for us. When God saw man's hopeless, desperate sinful condition, he decided to help man. He lovingly gave His only Son to die and be crucified for us on Calvary. Even though Jesus was innocent, He paid the price for our salvation.
John 3:16 -
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
Know that all have sinned. Everyone has committed at least one sin and that makes us all sinners. We all stand guilty before God.
Rom 3:23 - "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
Know that Jesus Christ is the only way. There are people that teach that there are different ways to God and Heaven. This is not true. Jesus said that He is the only way.
John 14:6 - "I am the way the truth and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." Jesus is the only bridge between God and man.
Know that today is the day of salvation. The only moment that we are sure of is now. Yesterday is gone, and tomorrow may not come. If we do not accept Christ today and we die before tomorrow comes, we will not be saved.
2 Cor 6:2 - "Now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation."
Prov 27:1 - "Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth."
Receive Jesus Christ as your Savior today. By inviting Jesus to come into our lives today, we will experience the following: He will forgive our sins. He will cleanse us from all sin with His precious Blood. God the Father will accept us as His children. God will write our names in the Book of Life. God will give us everlasting life.
Please make this decision now and pray this prayer: Dear Jesus Christ, I invite you to come into my life right now. Please forgive all my sins and cleanse me with your precious Blood. I accept you as my Lord and Savior. Heavenly Father, please make me your child right now, Write my name in the Book of Life and give me life everlasting. I ask this in Jesus Name, Amen.
